Set in 19th century London, Benjamin Barker returns to the city under the name Sweeney Todd after being sent into exile unjustly fifteen years prior. He seeks revenge on the corrupt Judge Turpin, leading him to Mrs. Lovett’s pie shop on Fleet Street. He learns about the tragic fate of his wife and daughter he longed to be reunited with, fueling the flames to a “business partnership” between Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett: Sweeney provides the closest shave for his barber clients, and Mrs. Lovett takes care of the carnage in the form of her meat pies in the name of vengeance.
