Eleven year old Winnie Foster steps beyond her white picket fence when the fair comes to her town of Treegap, New Hampshire. In her pursuit of adventure, she crosses paths with the Tuck family in her wood. She uncovers their secret of immortality after they drank from her spring, and she is left with the responsibility of keeping it. The Tucks teach her what it means to be truly alive, while Winie show them how to look forward to life once again. However, she is still left with a choice to make: Will Winnie drink the water and live forever, or will she return to being the good girl she was before?
